SCTPVA Update
June 2013
With cell phone tickets being increased from 3 points to 5 points in May 2013, the Suffolk TPVA is now taking a harder position on these tickets.
July 2013
New York State added a new surcharge of $25 to all parking tickets with dates of violation after July 26, 2013. Surcharges on most other traffic infractions were increase $8 as well.
August 2013
The court is now looking back on the drivers abstract at least 3 years when prosecuting the cases.
October 2013
The Suffolk County TPVA is now holding court on Thursday evenings.
January 2014
The court has begun to draw a distinction between tickets issued for using a portable device while driving a commercial vehicle verses those issued while driving a non-commercial vehicle. Drivers with CDL licenses need to be extra careful when resolving these tickets.
