Driver Assessment Fees
If you accumulate 6 points or more on your divers license or driving record, within a 18 month period (points are calculated from the date of violation) The NYS DMV will impose an additional drivers assessment fee. This is in addition to the fines and surcharges the Suffolk County TPVA imposes. For 6 points the drivers assessment fee is $300, 8 points is $450 and 10 points is $600.
